Caesar - the reason this program exists and the reason I, as a dog handler, am who I am. The reason so many lives have been touched, the reason I am a successful dog training business owner, the reason for so many interpersonal beneficial relationships, the reason I fell in love with German Shepherds, the reason I started dog sports, the Service Dog I’d always dreamt of, the idol all the dogs look up to, the reason I am who I am and the reason I am here. Caesar is one of those dogs that has always been a little larger than life. He has a presence about him that makes people notice him, but anyone who actually knows him knows there is so much more to him than the handsome dog they see in pictures. He is confident, outgoing, incredibly athletic, and always ready to be involved in whatever we’re doing. Caesar loves having a job, whether that means training, competing, traveling, or trying something completely new, he has always been the kind of dog that makes me want to say “let’s see if he can do it” because more often than not, he can. Up until he retired from work, he was my full time service dog as well. As much as I love his ability and versatility, his personality is probably my favorite thing about him. Caesar is fun. He’s expressive, opinionated, affectionate, and has enough personality for several dogs packed into one. Life with him is very rarely boring.

He has been able to experience so much with me and has been a dog I can take out into the world and genuinely enjoy. He can work and be serious when I ask him to, but at the end of the day he is still my dog first. He lives life with us, settles at home, and is just as much a member of the family as he is a working and sport dog. Caesar has taught me a lot over the years and has played a huge part in shaping what I value in a German Shepherd and what I want to continue producing through FuryHaus.

There will only ever be one Caesar, and I think anyone who has spent more than five minutes around him would probably agree.  At his age now he is no longer actively breeding and 'retired' from the hard work, but we do have him collected!
